Gee + Granpa visit!!

We have been busy since last Thursday when Jane + Andy arrived!! We've shopped, eaten good food, shopped, played together, shopped (haha), + relaxed w/ each other! It was a very nice, but short visit! Its never long enough when family is around!

Thursday night we ate @ Downstair's @ Eric's, where Shawn has been taking some night shifts. It was fun sitting @ the table right next to the window so we could see him the whole time! Friday we went to Target + the Outlet Mall, then met Shawn for lunch + a nice relaxing afternoon! We went to Jake's Dive Bar to watch the Bengal's Pre-Season Game. Gee + Grandpa had brought EA some new 'gear', so we were all decked out! Saturday, Shawn + his parents played a round of golf in Copper. We had home-made spaghetti + meatballs for dinner @ the Fraser's condo! Sunday, we went to pick up the snowmobiles in Alma, CO. Andy is bringing them back to Cincinatti to do some work to them. We shopped around the small town + then headed back to Breck + ate a delicious lunch @ Quandry. After lunch, we were all stuffed + ended up hanging out @ the condo! Shawn + I got to enjoy the hotel hot tub, while Gee + Granpa 'babysat'! It was sad to say good bye, as it always is! The Fraser's left this morning, early, for a long drive home :(

Cutie Pie/Freak Out!!

Elsie Anne had a nice morning blow out... not a good start to my day, but EA wishes she could start every day out w/ a tubby! She is now wanting to sit up in the tub... since she's been practicing so much on the floor w/ her 'Boppy' pillow!
She reached out for the front + pulled herself to this position.... but I had to help her back down!

I put her back in jammies (it was 7am) to take her morning nap! When she woke up I had her try on her new mittens for winter! These are 'infant' size, but I've never seen an infant that would fit into these!!!
I was able to nap while she did this morning, but that made us miss our Baby Boot Camp class! So, after lunch, we went to the soccer field @ the gym + did our own! I ran back + forth on the field, did lunges, squats, abs, etc + Elsie Anne got a kick watching me! I put her on the picnic blanket w/ me while I did abs + she rolled around + laughed as she watched me! She's such a fun workout buddy!

After our workout, we went grocery shopping + came home to play! That lasted about 30min + then she got fussy, so I started our normal nap routine + she just wasn't having it! I tried feeding her (again), she wasn't having it! She was already diapered, so I put her in the crib w/ her paci + lovey (sometimes she just wants down). After rubbing, patting, shhing, nothing would get this little pistol calm! So, I left the room (turned off the monitor) to clear my head. I tried this whole process 3 times + she was just pissed. I called Shawn so he could calm ME down. I let her cry for 25min :( it was so hard! But she finally gave up + crashed!!! I guess I'm not too good @ letting her 'cry it out' b/c I was crying myself!

'Ten Mile' Hike...

NO... we did not 'hike' ten miles, the name of our hike was 'Ten Mile Trail'!!! Another beautiful outdoor day! This was the first time we used the 'Cross Terrain' back pack Shawn's parent's gave us! EA really enjoyed it... we'll be using this again for sure!! This is @ the trail head all loaded up + ready to go...

Up, Up, Up we went... I think I'd have to find a flatter hike if I wanted to carry EA!

And she's OUT... it took about 45min for her to find this cozy spot, but she just talked herself to sleep!

When we made it back to the trail head, the horses had just gotten back too! The owner was so sweet. He said his horse's name was "Spot" and he loves kids. Then Elsie Anne got to ride on her first horse.

Breck 150 Celebration!!

Today was a gorgeous day... Shawn had to work :( so Elsie Anne + I went into town for Breckenridge's 150th Birthday Festival! There was live music all day, food/beer tents + kids activities! We got to hang out w/ friends + enjoy each other! EA + I danced, walked + she napped in her stroller the whole afternoon...

Yay!!! Daddy's here!! EA was so excited to see him!We went to 'Eric's' to watch a Red's game, but it wasn't showing. We had a little dinner anyway!
Elsie Anne always steals the show wherever we go! We were so proud of her... she only had a few cat naps in her stroller + was so tired by the end of the day, but she just kept smiling + being such a sweety!! She's so sleepy in this pic... we left a few minutes after this!

5 MONTHS TODAY!

Shawn + I are beside ourselves... we can't believe our little baby is almost 1/2yr. old???! Everyone always said 'it goes by so fast', but now WE are experiencing it + its crazy!

We had a fun time playing @ home today! EA loves being naked, so this morning I let her squirm around a little on the floor (even though its a bit chilly in our house, in the am). She loved it as you will see... This first one is my new fav... I love her expression!

Elsie Anne sitting BY HERSELF, in the Boppy, for the first time!!! Yay... it only lasted 8sec, but I was so impressed!

Trying to get back up to that fun sitting position!! She also watched her first 'Nature Baby' movie! Of course she's watched tons of sports w/ Daddy, but she was really into this movie! It has beautiful music that goes along w/ the nature clip... spring, winter, summer, fall!

5 Fun EA Facts...

• she stares @ you + talks loudly to get your attention if you're not watching her! oh yes, she loves an audience!
• tubby time is her ultimate favorite! she gets so excited as you're taking her clothes off + she hears the water running... her arms flap, legs kick + her head swivels around looking for the water!!
• she now rolls both ways! she started doing it from tummy to back, but now does back to tummy much easier!
• she holds + plays w/ her toys! she can move the toy from hand to hand. its amazing watching her little brain work while she's playing!
• she gives the best open mouth kisses ever! she holds on to both sides of your head + leans in for a big smooch! it's hilarious watching her grab Shawn's beard!!
• + 1 more... she loves her rice cereal... we are doing it every other evening! she gets excited each time she sees food on the spoon coming toward her!

More Fun w/ Daddy...

We had a really relaxing morning... went to church + took naps w/ Elsie Anne. So, we decided to go for a hike in the afternoon. Well, once we were finally packed up + ready to go... the weather rolled over the mountain + it started raining :( At that point we were stir crazy so we went into town anyway!

We skirted most of the storm... had a few sprinkles, but Shawn is always prepared + had his big golf umbrella! Elsie Anne fell asleep as we were ready to head back home, so we had to continue our walk...

This is a monument in town that we always pass by... the flowers made it look so beautiful + I had to get a picture... Shawn thought I was silly!

We ended up @ Cold Stone Creamery... so, instead of getting some nice exercise on a hike, we gorged ourselves w/ tons of sugary goodness!
We seriously felt like throwing up!

Daddy Day!!

This weekend has been wonderful having Daddy w/ us the whole time!!! We went to Carter park to relax, enjoy the weather + throw the football. Elsie Anne had so much fun rolling around on her new picnic blanket! My arm gets tired throwing the ball quickly, so thank goodness Donnie was able to join us + keep Shawn busy! Shawn's not one to sit/lay around, even if we are outside, he always needs something to keep him entertained!!

After the park, we went to our favorite Cincinnati 'backer bar,' Jake's Dive Bar... EA has been coming there since she was conceived, haha! Anyway, everyone loves seeing her + she loves being the center of attention, so it all works out! We left @ 7pm when the 'riff-raff' started showing up to take shot after shot!

I'm getting a little lazy w/ my blogging, just using slide shows, but I'm getting a lot of good pics + not able to choose which to share! This one's not too long, so enjoy...

Friday Afternoon Club...

We had a fun day w/ Daddy... we went to work w/ him to pick up his tools, but it ended up taking quite a bit longer than expected! EA did great though, we just played in the finished house on the brand new carpet + waited for Shawn to be done! It was nice just hanging w/ Shawn b/c we hadn't seen him for so long (he's been working doubles)! Then we went to the FAC @ Beaver Run + won 2 more passes to Water World in Denver... we have 4 passes now that we've won! We'll be hitting the slides one these weekends!!!!
