Quandry!

After a long (but fun since Momma was here) work week, Memoo treated us to dinner!  We chose a spot we haven't been to in a while, but holds wonderful wedding memories - QUANDRY GRILL!  We hosted our 'Welcome Dinner' here, the Thursday night before our wedding:) 

I love how this picture captures my Colorado Child weathering the snow much better than my Florida Momma - no hood, hands in her pockets, just powering through the wind!!

Cheers to our fun Family evening!  Elsie Anne loves eating out & we love that she behaves much better at restaurants now, than 6mo ago:)  She hangs, talks, colors, orders her meal, checks things out around the table, tells us when its potty time, and eats like a champ when the food comes!!

Memoo put EA down for the night and gave Shawn & I a night out on the town!  Even though we didn't want to leave Memoo on her last night in Breckenridge, it was really special to have 'alone time' with my Hubby.  Thanks Momma for our date-night!!

Brrrr!

Too cold to do ANYTHING today!  Woke up this morning to -38* weather, our living room was 50*, and our fire place was so cold it took over an hour to get the fire started!  Thankfully our heaters work better upstairs & our rooms were nice and cozy last night.  Even now at 2pm, it is -18*!!  We got a little stir crazy, and I loaded Elsie Anne & Adeline up to meet Shawn for a Chinese lunch date:)

Shawn has an amazing talent of skiing backwards & taking pictures of me!  Bummed I wasn't able to get any of him on the jumps & rails!  It was seriously impressive to see him in action after TWO YEARS!

Apre 'brewskis' before picking up our angel, who I barely even thought about while we were out!  I think that means that I am FINALLY ready for some 'momma time' & that I completely trust our best buds that keep her:)

Hoping for many more of these before we are FLORIDA BOUND!!

TWENTY-ELEVEN!!

We were so fortunate to have Elsie Anne's 'Breck cousins' take her for a few hours so that I could have my first Ski Date w/ Shawn in 2yrs!  Shelby, Lexi & their mommy Kiersten had a ball w/ EA & had so many cute stories to report back to us!  It was our first time leaving her w/ anyone but family, and it was a perfect fit.  EA loves to play w/ the girls & the Stais family is our closest thing to family out here:)  Thank you, Thank you!!

Of course, the day we chose had to be one of the most bitter cold to date, this season!  It was -6*, but w/ wind chill on the mountain, it was more like -15*!!  OUCH is all we had to say!  Thankfully I was not the only one complaining about my fingers & toes, there was no way around it - everyone was FREEZING!!  Shawn & I trying to thaw out...

Shawn was so kind to offer to pick EA up & let me have an apre beer w/ our visiting buddies!  After her nap we all chilled @ home around a cozy fire & got ready for our New Year's celebration!!

And @ the stroke of TEN-O'CLOCK, we rang in the New Year, East Coast time!!  Our whiskey shot was to toast & honor our buddy in Vail that, instead of getting remission news for Xmas, he got an "experation date" as he calls it.  Cheers to you, Tony, for so many crazy-fun times & many more ahead!!

Fun-Day Friday!!

Elsie Anne + I started our fun-day w/ Family Gym Time!  She went crazy in this bouncy house, after having so much practice @ GeeGee + Papa's in Ohio!!  We had fun playing w/ balls, tunnels, tents, hula hoops + climbing on the mats!!

After a great nap, Elsie Anne woke up to Daddy + pumpkin carving!  Yes, we are procrastinators... we've had the pumpkin, just never took the time to carve it.  EA was a big helper!

Then, we headed to Kid's Night Out @ our church!  We got all checked in, pointed out costumes that EA recognized, got EA to the right group... and OFF we went for our 2nd Breckenridge Dinner Date, since EA's arrival, almost 20 months ago (the 1st was last winter when my Mom was in town)!!

Shawn + I enjoyed appetizers + drinks @ The Hearthstone, where we hadn't dined since our 2yr anniversary when I was preggo w/ Elsie Anne!  It always brings back good memories:)  Our 'honey time' was very satisfying + we were able to really enjoy each other's company.  I'm ready for another one already, heehee!

After a little over an hour, we were anxious to get back to our Princess!  I know, it's sad, but we live + breath our little girl, + since it's just the 3 of us out here, we do EVERYTHING together, so it was weird not having her with us.  We spyed for a bit, before EA knew we were there.  This is how we found her little group.  She is right behind the boy looking @ the camera, you can only see the top of her head w/ a halloween bow, of course:) 

We watched her line up w/ all the children to go into the mess hall, and as she came out of the room, we popped out!  She got so excited and ran over to hug us, as if to say, "I haven't seen you in a whole HOUR!"  It was the best reunion ever:)

As we drove home, she told us about the Dance Room ~ which the teacher had already commented to us about her "hilarious dance moves," and that she HAD to stay longer than the rest her age, so she danced w/ the older children too:) ~ the Face Painting, the Barney Movie, and her favorite costumes, which were Woody from Toy Story, a Spider, a Princess, and a Pirate, she kept talking about her teacher, Ms. Nikki, and all the big children too!  It was so fun to see her pride + feel her excitement about her adventures ALL BY HERSELF!!

It was a SUCCESS!  SIGN US UP for the next 'Kids Night Out'! :)
